Poet, artist, and performer Anis Mojgani, is a two-time National Poetry Slam Individual Champion and winner of the international World Cup Poetry Slam. A multiple time TEDx speaker, Anis has been awarded residencies from AIR Serenbe, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Oregon Writer’s In The Schools program. His work has appeared on NPR, HBO, and in journals such as RATTLE, Thrush, Bat City Review, and The Berkeley Review. Anis is the author of three poetry collections, Songs From Under The River, The Feather Room, and Over The Anvil We Stretch, as well as the self-illustrated poetic memoir, The Pocketknife Bible. Originally from New Orleans, he currently lives in Portland OR.

Norman Sylvester “The Boogie Cat” was born in Bonita, LA in 1945. He is a musician with soul. A showman, mentor, and inductee of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. In 2015 his band was named Best R & B by the Cascade Blues Association.
The Norman Sylvester Band started performing in the Portland Area in 1985 and has shared the stage with BB King, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, Peter Frampton and more.
Norman is a “family and community first” musician. He teaches “A History of American Music” in local schools through Ethos and often use their power of music to perform for many benefits, charities and individuals in need.
