WeMake is a non-profit 501 C(3) that helps to foster art and design in Portland’s creative community through hands-on experiences, creative dialogue, and design-in-action initiatives. WeMake Celebrates is an evolution of our yearly anniversary event that started with Put a Bird In It (which raised over $30K for arts and music education in three years), and has now grown into a full-blown conference. Our goal is to inspire, inform, and celebrate our creative community through diverse speakers representing an array of creative industries and disciplines.
MASTER OF CEREMONIES /
Adam R Garcia runs The Pressure, a multidisciplinary creative studio based in Portland, Oregon. The studio's work focuses on exploration and surprise, and spans genres, from identities, typography, environmental design and motion to illustration, gallery shows and events. Clients include Nike, Nickelodeon, Intel, Fader, Wired Magazine, Rhymesayers, Kanye West, Bloomberg Business Week, and the NSA, which is a long story that he can't talk about.
WeMake is fueled by the passion for learning, sharing, and creating. We're driven by the process of making and the spirit of community. With this in mind, a portion of sales from the event will go towards the continued support of art, design, and making.

VENUE / THE ARMORY
Widely noted as the “crown jewel” of the Brewery Blocks, The Armory is a historic building built in 1891 by Multnomah County to once house the Oregon National Guard. Since then, the Armory became the first building in the Cascadia region – and the first historical renovation of a performing arts venue in the world – to achieve a Platinum LEED certification. It has drawn groups of people interested in sustainable design from across the country, as well as international delegations from Russia, Belgium, and Hungary.
- Forbes Magazine as one of the greenest buildings in America
